About me…
Traveling has always been a part of my life, whether stateside or abroad. This is due to my multi-cultural family and being first generation American on one side; I was given a window to the world just through family history. Although, it’s importance to me over the last three years has grown exponentially.
When I lost my father to cancer a few years ago it felt like the world had stopped spinning. All of my future plans came to a halt and where I thought I would be wasn’t where I ended up. Lost was a good way to describe me. A few months passed and I finally pulled myself back together. How you ask? One sleepless night, my brain was on highway 70, going fast, weaving in and out of thoughts, and roaming in circles. Until I came to a dead ‘stop’ when I could hear my dad say what he always said “life is what you make of it and there’s too much living to do and things to see.” The next morning I booked three international trips to places I have never been. Fast forward to spending New Years in a new country and I was slowly finding myself again.
I travel not just to see new places or experience new things. I travel to see myself. To be myself. To remember that I’m just a tiny little person in this vast and wondrous world and that things could always be worse.
“The traveler sees what he sees.
The tourist sees what he has come to see.”
